Founder & CEO
Dean Ashworth
Dean founded Creative at HeART CIC in November 2025 with a vision to bring moments of joy, creativity, and comfort to children and families in need of a little lift during challenging times in their lives. After a successful two-decade career in senior commercial leadership roles across global organisations, Dean made the life-changing decision to leave the corporate world in pursuit of something more meaningful, using his skills and experience to uplift and serve others.
A proud and loving family man, and a passionate advocate for community wellbeing, he also serves as a charity Trustee Board Member of Home-Start Corby, supporting families with young children facing difficult circumstances.
His vision for Creative at HeART was born from a simple desire to make a genuine difference, helping children find happiness and pride through creativity when life feels hard. Driven by purpose, compassion, and a belief in the power of giving back, Dean leads Creative at HeART with integrity and a clear mission: to brighten the lives of children and families locally and across the UK, one precious print at a time.
Gareth Scott-Evans
Gareth brings a wealth of leadership experience from both the corporate and charity sectors to Creative at HeART CIC. With a lengthy and successful career in financial services and retail banking leadership, followed by senior roles with national charities including Cancer Research UK and Macmillan, and more recently as Head of Retail for two local palliative care hospices, Gareth combines strategic acumen with a deep sense of compassion and community purpose. His professional journey has strengthened his commitment to ethical governance, operational excellence, volunteer and fundraising leadership, and the belief that kindness and care can create lasting change. Now working as a Teaching Assistant, Gareth’s daily work with children fuels his passion for inspiring young people to discover confidence through creativity.
At Creative at HeART, Gareth’s purpose is simple, yet profound - to help every child experience the pride and joy of seeing their creativity transformed into something lasting, a tangible reminder that their imagination and effort matter, and that they are truly valued and celebrated.

Dawn Burt
Dawn joins Creative at HeART CIC as Finance Director and Non-Executive Board Member, bringing a strong background in corporate finance, sales, operations, and strategic leadership. Having spent much of her career working in the demanding world of mergers and acquisitions; Dawn developed extensive experience in financial management, due diligence, and regulatory compliance, positioning her perfectly to oversee the social enterprise's financial governance with confidence and integrity.
Alongside her board role, she owns and manages a successful franchise cleaning business and a companionship care agency, giving her real-world experience in leadership, compliance, finance, and people-focused service delivery.
Passionate about giving back, Dawn enjoys the sense of purpose volunteering brings and is committed to making a meaningful difference to the children supported by Creative at HeART. She is excited to be part of a team that empowers young people by helping them explore their creativity through personalised art activities, boosting confidence, expression, and joy.
